The local people's engagement in animal husbandry has been effective in the widespread use of weaving material. The rugs woven by people for meeting their needs were also used as mats, mattresses, pillows, storage bags, grocery bags, sacks and cribs in the homes. The weft and warp yarns used are entirely made of wool. For the weaving, people used the yarn dyed with natural paints, and spun with wool spinner. Every ornament on these rugs is a message. Each rug has conveyed the message of its era to the present day like a book. Each rug embodies a different beauty and a feeling. A few of the ornaments used in the rugs are wolf's feet, scorpion, lighter, parakeets, yearn bargello, ram horn, evil eye, elibelinde (hands on hips), ram with knob and sewn bargello. The most common rug types are: Gülsarya, Nehrek, Halit Begi, Şahneri, and Lüleper.
