Stone, mud-brick and wood materials were used in the construction of the traditional Van house, which is one of the important heirs of the urban texture of Van. When analyzing the construction technique, it is seen that mud-brick walls were built on a stone foundation. The hipped roofs seen in some of today's examples of Van houses, which are covered with flat roofs supported by wooden beams, were attached later. Looking at the plan type, the houses were mostly arranged with an inner sofa and were built as a single storey or two storey. Historical Van Houses District was established in Kalecik Quarter, which is approximately 5 kilometers from the city center, appearing as an eagle's nest on an area where you can view the entire city at an altitude of 1830 meters.
